A 3D visualisation of the first mobile phone I owned.

The CMD‑Z1 was Sony’s first mobile phone, launched in 1997. An incredibly good‑looking piece of engineering that beat the competition by a mile (if you ask me). I still have the phone, so a few evenings with my digital calipers, Fusion and Keyshot later … and there you go, a stack of renders.

The jog dial on the phone has 12 steps. I know, because I modelled it.

A memo recorder built into a phone. Analogue, and clearly inherited from the Walkman era.
